Description: This package gives visitors a comprehensive tour of all the ancient and mythological structures in Greece. Detailed tours covering the Greek capital Athens and other cities like Corinth, Olympia and Delphi help tourists get a better understanding of this beautiful country.

Day 1 – Upon your arrival at Athens airport, you will be met with our representative who will transfer you to the hotel. As there are no tours planned for the day, you can either relax or explore the city on your own. In the evening, wine and dine with your Travel Director and fellow travelers.

Day 2 – The second day is dedicated to exploring the ancient city of Athens. The morning sightseeing tour will help you better understand the rich cultural heritage and beautiful architecture of the Greek capital. Visit the Parthenon on the Acropolis, which is dedicated to Goddess Athena and declared one of the world’s greatest cultural monuments. You will also visit the Agora, the Royal Palace and the Temple of Zeus. Tourists can also have a look at Hadrian’s Arch, built to celebrate the arrival of Roman Emperor Hadrian, and the stadium where the first modern Olympics took place in 1896. The rest of the day is free for you to spend as you want. It would be a good idea to have dinner at the lively Plaka area of the city.

Day 3 – Next day we cross over the mighty Corinth Canal to the Pelopponesian Peninsula and visit the ancient city of Corinth. In Mycenae, which was once a military stronghold, be mesmerized by the beauty of the Beehive Tombs, the Treasury of Atreus, the Lion Gate and the remains of Agamemnon’s Royal Palace. On our way to Nafplion, explore the amphitheatre and the Sanctuary of the God of Medicine, Aesculapius, in Epidaurus. Till date, the snake-entwined rod of Aesculapius remains the symbol of medicine.

Day 4 – Travelling east across the spectacular coastline, we then cross the Mountains of Arcadia to reach ancient Olympia. Connected to many gods and myths, Olympia was also were the first Olympics was held in 776 BBC. In the evening, enjoy a ‘Be-My-Guest’ dinner of authentic local cuisine at a restaurant located on an olive farm.

Day 5 – In the morning, visit the ancient Olympic stadium and the Temples of Zeus and his wife Hera, both important deities in Greek mythology. Later in the day we drive up north to Patras and cross the Gulf of Corinth to reach mainland Greece. We then make our way towards Delphi.

Day 6 – A local guide will bring you around the town of Delphi, located on the slopes of Mount Parnassos. The first place to visit in Delphi is the site of the most important oracle in the classical world. Walk the Sacred Way to the Temple of Apollo, which dates back to the 4th century. It was here that every four years athletes competed in the Pythian Games, a precursor to the modern Olympics. A picturesque early afternoon drive brings you to the Thermopylae Memorial, famed for Leonidas and his brave Spartans’ defense against the invading Persians. Later we cross the fertile Thessaly region famously known as the “bread basket of Greece” and travel over the Pourmaraki Pass towards Kalambaka.

Day 7- From Kalambaka we drive to Meteora, one of the largest and most important Eastern Orthodox monasteries in Greece. Visit two of the six monasteries that have been built on sandstone rocks above the town. A scenic drive will bring you back to Athens.

Day 8- On the last day of the tour bid farewell to your fellow travelers. Transfer facilities from the hotel to airport are available. Conditions, however, do apply.
