Duration: 11 days and 10 nights

Description: This 11-day Vietnam tour packs in visits to all the important cities of the country like Hanoi and Saigon. Main tourist hotspots like Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Tay Ninh and the Vam Xep Canal are also included to understand the rich cultural heritage of the country.

Day 1- Upon arrival at Phnom Penh airport, you will be met with and transferred to the hotel. After check-in, you can rest for the day. Overnight stay has been arranged at the hotel.

Day 2- Following breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a city orientation tour. The tour will take you to the Wat Phnon, the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and the National Museum. In the afternoon, we will visit the Tuol Sleng Museum or the Museum of Genocide. Next, we drop by Phnom Penh`s two great markets, the Central Market located in a distinctive domed Art Deco building and the sprawling Russian Market. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 3- After breakfast, we will visit the famous Killing Fields. Located just outside Phnom Penh, in a rural setting, the killing fields of Choeung Ek provide a stark reminder of the atrocities committed under the Pol Pot Regime. Thousands of people were killed here between 1975 and 1978 and buried in mass graves. Spend the afternoon at leisure and return to the hotel.

Day 4- In the morning, check-out of the hotel and transfer to the airport to travel to Siem Reap. After arrival at Siem Reap, check into your hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 5- Following breakfast, we make our way to Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom, which are the crowning jewels of Khmer architecture. At Angkor Wat, you ascend through a series of galleries and courtyards before reaching the central sanctuary, which offers breathtaking views. En-route, stop to enjoy the intricate stone carvings adorning nearly every surface, with around 1,700 celestial dancers sculpted on the walls.

We then continue our journey to the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper Kings, the ruined Baphoun, Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas and the mysterious Bayon Temple. End your day with a stunning view of the sunset over the Cambodian countryside from the upper terraces of an ancient Angkorian temple. Overnight stay arrangements have been made at the hotel.

Day 6- Next day, transfer to the airport and travel to Saigon. After your arrival at Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City, proceed for a panoramic city tour. In the tour, you will be introduced to the Reunification Palace, War Angkor Wat, Siem Reap Remnants Museum, which comprehensively documents details of the Vietnam- American War, Emperor of Jade Pagoda, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. Marvel at the classic European-style landmarks like ornate City Hall (Hotel De Ville) and the old Opera House (both may be viewed only from the outside). A visit to the central Ben Thanh Market completes the tour.

Day 7- Next day after breakfast, you will visit Tay Ninh, the birthplace of the unique Cao Dai religion, a fusion of Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Christianity, Islam and native Vietnamese spiritual beliefs. We next proceed to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Never discovered by American forces, these tunnels were an important Vietcong base during the American War. You can walk through the area and learn more about the day-to-day life of the VC, see the hidden entrances and elaborate booby-traps and even venture into the tunnels, some of which have been modified for tourists. We return to Saigon in the late afternoon. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 8- Next day after breakfast take a boat trip on the Mekong River to Vam Xep Canal where local handicrafts and sweets are sold. Enjoy fresh seasonal fruits, a traditional song and dance performance and observe the local life. Take a ride on a horse-drawn carriage to a typical local house to taste some homemade honey-tea. Proceed by sampan boats through the small canals and get a feel of the locals’ daily life. We later return to Saigon where overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 9- In the morning, transfer to the airport and board your flight to Hanoi. On arrival, you will be met with and taken for a city orientation tour. We will first head to Hoan Kiem Lake, located in the heart of Hanoi, which contains an islet with the tiny Tortoise Pagoda. Take a walking tour and explore the Old Quarter. This fascinating network of narrow alleys and shop houses is also known as The 36 Streets, each street being named after the merchandise traditionally sold there, ranging from fabrics, crafts, medicines to tombstones. Afterwards, visit the Museum of Ethnology, where the ethnic diversity of Vietnam is at full display. Later, check into your hotel for a good night’s rest.

Day 10- Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Later go on a guided tour of Hanoi. You will visit the Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex, One Pillar Pagoda (located near the vast Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex, Ho Chi Minh`s final resting place). You then visit the Presidential Palace, stroll through the park to Ho Chi Minh Stilt House, a simple two-room dwelling where Ho Chi Minh lived from 1948 until his final days. Then join an excursion to the Thay and Tay Phuong Pagodas, where the earliest construction dates back to the 8th century. Overnight stay has been arranged at the hotel.

Day 11- After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport to board the flight back home or to your onward destination.
